Parkes & Co was established in 1994 trading in the
market town of Otley, West Yorkshire. By early 2001 we were managing
about 75 properties, using a mixture of Sage Line50, Microsoft Word,
Access & Excel, it was increasingly becoming difficult to find
information quickly & became apparent that a specialist property
management program was needed to allow further expansion & more
delegation of tasks.
We narrowed the options by only looking at software
that would allow integration with Sage, therefore keeping our office
accounts in the same format. After searching around we decided that
RentAccom was worth further investigation. We were initially
impressed by their helpfulness & assurances that they would change
the software to cater for our individual preferences (they designed
a statement to use our letterhead not the standard statement!).
We tried a demo copy for a few weeks then had a
demonstration in the office – we then decided it was time to
purchase RentAccom, we did this in September 2001. We gradually
added data & went live 1st April 2002. From that date to
today we have used RentAccom to run our business, we now deal with
over 250 properties & RentAccom has proved to be fantastic value for
money & any problems we have experienced have been sorted out
quickly
